New Position

New Post-doctoral Position Available!

A post-doctoral position is soon to be available in The Biostabilization Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in University of Minnesota. The position focuses on advanced development and validation of a DMSO-free cryopreservation method for manufactured therapeutic cells, specifically natural killer cells used in cancer immunotherapy. This is an NIH-funded project conducted in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, therefore providing an excellent interdisciplinary environment for research.

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry/Biophysics, Biotechnology. The candidate must have excellent experimentation skills related to bioengineering or biotechnology: No candidate without experimental experience in their Ph.D. (or previous post-doc) research will be considered for this position.

Furthermore, candidates must have:

-experience with wet lab chemistry and standard wet lab analytical techniques/procedures

-experience with mammalian cell culture

-experience with transmitted light and fluorescence microscopy

Preferred qualifications include:

-experience with IR spectroscopy

-experience in cryopreservation science and/or technology development

-experience with immune cell culture and experimentation
